The 2nd East African Financial Education Forum took place at RICEM premises, Kigali on 5-6th December 2018. It was opened by the representative of the German Embassy in Rwanda, Mrs Inga Kluender-Preuss, who thanked all participants who represent organizations from Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda for their contribution to the development of the financial sector.
During the 2 days of the forum, a market place with presentations of simulation games like Farmers Game, Microbusiness Game and Savings Game and the presentation of women’s product Tinyuka Wigire motivated participants to fruitful discussions.
Another main topic in presentations and discussions was Digital Finance and Financial Education.
The participants of each country came up with an action plan for financial education for 2019 which was presented to the audience by the respective group.
Through working very hard, there was even enough time for face-to-face discussions and networking. The evening session was enlivened by songs and traditional Rwandan dances.
